In Apple Worm, you will control a long and winding green worm, whose mission is to eat apples and crawl through the portal to complete the level.

Movement and interaction in Apple Worm

Move

You use the arrow keys or the control buttons on the touch screen to move the worm up, down, left, and right. The worm can only move on the background blocks and will die if it falls off the screen or touches a trap.

Eat apples

When the worm moves over an apple, it will automatically eat that apple. Each time it eats an apple, the worm's body will grow one unit longer.

Body length

The worm's body will grow longer when it eats an apple. When it is longer, it will have many advantages to help complete the game, such as:

  • Fill the gap: Sometimes, you need to move so that the worm's body stretches across a hole or gap, creating a temporary bridge to be able to pass.
  • Push objects: In some levels, you will see blocks. You can use the worm's head to push these blocks into the desired position, for example, to fill a hole or create a new path.
  • Creating obstacles: The elongated body can also become an obstacle for you. You have to calculate your steps to avoid getting stuck in your own body.

Obstacles and environmental factors

Each level will have different elements that require you to calculate carefully:

  • Touching the spikes will kill the worm immediately. You must avoid them by going around or using other objects to block.
  • As mentioned, you can push these blocks to create a path or fill the hole.
  • The fixed walls will limit your path.
  • If the worm falls into the hole, you lose. Use your body or push blocks to overcome.
