If you are a fan of games with horror storylines, you might like Baldi's Basics. In the game, you are trapped in a school and are being chased by a teacher.
You (the player) receive a message from a friend, saying that he is in trouble. He has left his 7 exercise books in school and needs your help to get them back. The problem is, he is in a hurry and cannot go back to school. He also says that if you can help him get those 7 books back, you will receive a "wonderful gift" (this phrase is often used to encourage players).
The school is quite small, with only a few classrooms and hallways, but the special thing is that it is run by a strange math teacher named Baldi.
As you start collecting books, Baldi will appear. At first, everything seems normal and "educational". In each book, there will be three math problems, and the player needs to solve them correctly.
First notebook: The problems are usually very simple and easy to solve. When you answer all 3 questions correctly, Baldi will smile and say, "Good job! You did great!" and you will receive a small reward.
The next notebooks: The difficulty of the problems starts to increase a bit. However, the key point is that from the second notebook onwards, you will start to encounter problems that are impossible to solve.
The gameplay of Baldi's Basics is a unique blend of exploration, puzzle solving, item collecting, and survival horror, all wrapped up in a seemingly simple school environment.
You are dropped into a school. Your first objective is to enter the classrooms and search for green notebooks. The notebooks are scattered throughout the classrooms. You must open the doors to enter the rooms, sometimes finding keys or using items to open locked rooms. When you find a notebook, you interact with it (left-click). The screen will switch to a math problem interface.
Each notebook contains 3 simple math problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication). The problems are usually easy and have correct answers. When you answer all 3 questions correctly, Baldi will praise you, and you will receive an item or a coin. When you answer a question incorrectly (whether intentionally or due to a math problem), Baldi will become angry. You will hear the ruler's signature "SLAP!" sound and Baldi will start chasing you. The number of times you answer incorrectly will be proportional to Baldi's movement speed.
