Paper.io is a strategy game to invade other players' territories and expand your territory. In the game, whoever has the largest territory is the strongest.

Paper.io Gameplay

Move and Expand Territory

You start with a small square of your own color on a pre-colored territory. Your task is to move quickly to color the surrounding lands to make your territory bigger and bigger. As you move along the path, a trail of the same color as your small square will appear, indicating that your territory has been added. To capture new territory, you must draw a line and connect it back to your land, forming a closed circle. The entire area inside that circle will be colored and become yours. The bigger the circle you create, the more land you can expand. You also gain more points when you expand land. Capture Opponents' Land: You can capture other players' land by drawing a circle around their territory and closing it without leaving any gaps. But you need to be careful when invading other areas because in those areas, opponents are more cautious and can attack you.

Eliminate Opponents and Defend Yourself

If you touch another player's tail while they are moving outside their territory (i.e., they are drawing a line to claim land), they will be eliminated from the game immediately. This is the fastest way to gain points and reduce opponents. Conversely, if your tail is touched by another player while you are drawing a line outside the safe zone, you will be eliminated. This means that you have to be extremely careful when expanding your territory. Don't go too far or too long without returning to your safe zone.

Advanced Strategy

To be a good player, you need more than just knowing how to move and take territory. Especially when you are just starting out or have a lot of opponents around, it is safer to expand little by little in small circles.

When you see an opponent drawing a long line or getting stuck, it is a golden opportunity to cut them off. Strike quickly and retreat. If you are holding a large area, take your time moving around your territory to make sure no one is trying to encroach or cut you off from the inside.

The middle of the map is often the most contested area, but it also gives you access to a lot of areas. Sometimes it is best to be less aggressive. Watch how your opponent plays, wait for them to make a mistake, or create a safe space for you to expand. Trying to take too much territory at once can make you an easy target.
