Idle Ants is an idle simulation game themed around a giant ant colony. The goal of the game is to make your ant colony consume everything in its path.
The job of the ants is to automatically collect food items on the map. Initially, you will have a single ant with a slow-moving speed. Gradually, you will need to buy more ants and upgrade their speed to make them move faster. Your ants will automatically move to food items (or other consumable objects) on the map, tear them into small pieces, and bring them back to the nest.
Initially, ants will collect simple food items such as bread crumbs, fruit. As you progress, you will unlock larger and more difficult to consume items such as dead insects, hot dogs, even cars and planes. Each type of item will bring a different amount of money when collected. Each time an ant brings a piece of food back to the nest, you will receive a certain amount of money. This is the main source of income for you to upgrade and expand the colony.
The money you earn will be used to upgrade the important stats of the ant colony to help them work more efficiently.
Once your ants have consumed all the items in a given area and made enough progress (usually represented by a progress bar on the screen), you will unlock a new area. Each new area usually has different terrain, scenery, and especially different types of items for the ants to explore and consume. This gives the player variety and a sense of constant exploration. For example, from backyards to beaches, parks, or even urban locations. The items in new areas are often larger, harder, and yield more money, but also require stronger and more numerous ants to handle effectively.
