Battleship is a naval strategy game for two players. Each player has a different fleet of warships. The goal of the game is to sink your opponent's warships.

How to play

Each player places their warships on the board so that no ships overlap. Warships can be placed horizontally or vertically. Players take turns shooting at the squares on their opponent's grid. When a player hits a square containing an enemy warship, they get one more shot.

Ship type: There are 5 types of warships

  • Battleship: (occupies 4 squares)
  • Cruiser: (takes up 3 squares)
  • Destroyer: (occupies 2 squares)
  • Submarine: (occupies 3 squares)
  • Patrol ship: (occupies 1 square)

When all the squares of a type of warship are hit, that warship will be sunk. The first player to sink all enemy warships wins.

Rule

  • Do not shoot into previously fired squares.
  • Do not move warships once they have been placed.
  • When hitting a warship, the player must announce "Hit" or "Miss".
  • When hitting a new warship, the player gets one more shot.
  • The first player to sink all enemy warships wins.
