Planet Busters is an action puzzle game with light shooting elements, developed by Slam. Perhaps this is the ideal game for those who love big explosions.

Surface Clearing and Resource Gathering

  • Players need to clear debris, blocks, or small Scourge bases by triggering chain explosions.
  • Blocks on the planet have Match-3 or puzzle mechanics. You can shoot or trigger a specific point to create a small explosion.
  • To be able to create a chain reaction, you need to trigger the explosion so that it spreads to other blocks of the same type or neighboring bases. This requires good aiming skills and calculating the best chain reaction to clear as many targets as possible.
  • Because the planet is circular, your shooting angle always changes as the ship moves or the planet rotates. This makes angle calculation even more difficult, forcing players to calculate the trajectory and physical impact of the explosion.

Collecting Resources and Upgrading Ships

  • When small targets are destroyed, they will drop Resources such as coins or special items.
  • Players must quickly collect these resources before they disappear. These resources are used to upgrade ships, buy destructive weapons, and unlock special tools to use in Phase 2.

Strategize to destroy every planet

After completing the objective, which can be destroying some main bases or collecting enough resources, the player moves to the final phase.

Using the Ultimate Weapon

Players use special weapons that have been purchased or unlocked, called Planet Busters. This weapon has the function of destroying the planet.

These weapons can be:

  • Large Nuclear Bomb: Causes a giant explosion from the center of the planet.
  • Radial Missile: Powerful missile that shoots through the core of the planet.
  • EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse): Disables enemy defenses before the main explosion.

What challenges will you face?

  • There are many higher levels later on that will limit your time, or maybe require players to act quickly before the enemy attacks back.
  • In addition to static bases, players must deal with small warships or Scourge defense devices that fly around the planet, requiring players to solve puzzles while shooting them down.
  • Each planet has different gravity, terrain, and block structure, forcing players to adjust their strategy and shooting angle in each level.
