Have you ever wanted to be a ghost? In Haunt the House, you will be a wandering ghost and your mission is to scare other players to make them run away.

Haunt the House Story

The world of Haunt the House is a place where spirits survive after death, and they can interact with the physical world by possessing objects. However, instead of causing harm, the main goal of these spirits (at least in your case) is to find peace.

Terrortown begins in a rather simple yet emotional way. You are a spirit, a ghost, who is initially just a speck of light floating in the air. The place where you have found peace is an old and abandoned Clock Tower. This is your resting place, where you can exist peacefully, undisturbed.

However, this peace does not last long. One night, you notice that humans have begun to "invade" the town. They not only walk the streets, but also start entering the buildings, making noise and breaking the silence you have become accustomed to. For a soul seeking peace, this is an intolerable nuisance.

You are not a malevolent spirit who seeks to spread terror for your own satisfaction. Instead, your main motivation is to rest in peace again. To achieve this, you realize that the only way is to make everyone leave town. If no one is here, you can return to your nightly peace.

Haunt the House Gameplay

The Ghost

You start the game as a floating blue-purple blob, unable to be touched or interact directly with living people or objects. This is your base form. In this form, you can fly freely through walls and spaces, moving anywhere in the building. This is how you explore the environment and find objects to possess.

Possession

This is your main ability. When you fly near an object (e.g. a chair, lamp, cabinet, picture, TV, statue, washing machine, etc.), you can "possess" it. Most objects in the game can be possessed. When you are near a possessed object, it will be highlighted (usually by glowing). When possessed, you "become" that object and can control it, activating ghostly abilities. You cannot move freely while possessing a static object (like a chair), but can control mobile objects (like a stroller, doll).
